Your AI Retraining Doesn't Have to Cost You Anything
You have experience. You can see where things are headed. And you haven't made a move yet — because when you're working full time, how can you afford to keep up with every AI shift? It takes time, and often serious money. So it's completely understandable that the right moment hasn't come. Until now. Contrary to popular belief, being unemployed in Germany doesn't have to feel like a setback. It's the exact situation that qualifies you for fully funded AI retraining — and gives you the time to upskill fast and re-enter the job market with skills you'd have struggled to build otherwise.
The German government offers an education voucher called the Bildungsgutschein that covers 100% of tuition costs for certified programs. Turing College offers two AZAV-certified programs eligible for funding:
- AI Engineering, for experienced developers ready to specialize in AI and land roles as AI engineers
- AI for Business, for business professionals — think product managers, marketers, finance teams, operations, and more — who feel left behind by AI and want practical, no-code skills to automate their work, andspeed up data analysis and reporting

Why Should I Choose Turing College for Tech Training?
Not all training programs are created equal. If you're investing time in learning a new skill, you want a program that actually leads to a job — not just a certificate collecting dust.
The Turing College methodology is designed with one goal in mind: getting you hired. Our Bildungsgutschein-funded programs go beyond theory, giving you practical, job-ready skills through hands-on projects, industry insights, and career coaching. You’ll be learning what employers actually need and doing it in a flexible way that fits your life.
Here’s how Turing College stands out:
1. Job-Oriented Training
At Turing College, you train for real work. Our programs are designed to close the gap between theory and practice, so when you complete your training, you’re ready for the demands of the tech industry. No fluff, no outdated coursework — just hands-on skills that companies actively look for.
2. Self-Paced Learning
Unlike traditional bootcamps, Turing College offers self-paced learning. However, to qualify for Bildungsgutschein funding, you must commit to at least 30 hours per week. This ensures you stay on track while still allowing flexibility — ideal if you have other responsibilities.
3. Personalized Mentorship and Career Support
You won't be learning alone. At Turing College, you’ll not only get guidance from industry mentors, but also reinforce your own knowledge by helping others learn — a known method called the protégé effect. Reviewing your peers’ work and discussing learning concepts helps deepen your understanding and strengthen your skills.
And when you're ready to enter the job market, we’ll help you highlight your new skills, sharpen your resume, and practice interviews so you can confidently land your next role.
4. Fully Bildungsgutschein-Funded
Most importantly, you can complete your training 100% free with a Bildungsgutschein. No financial stress — just focused learning.
What Is a Bildungsgutschein?
A Bildungsgutschein is a government-funded education voucher issued by the German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit). It covers 100% of the tuition costs for approved education and vocational training programs, helping people gain new skills and re-enter the workforce.
The voucher helps you upskill or reskill so you can find a new career path with strong job prospects — especially in high-demand fields like tech. Whether you're unemployed, facing job insecurity, or looking for a fresh start, a Bildungsgutschein removes the financial barrier to quality education.
For tech careers, this is a golden opportunity. Fields like data analytics, data science, and AI are growing fast, and companies are actively hiring people with the right skills — even if they don’t have traditional university degrees.
What Costs Does a Bildungsgutschein Cover?
A Bildungsgutschein covers not only the tuition of your chosen course. Depending on your situation, it may also cover:
- Travel expenses to and from in-person training locations
- Accommodation costs if your course requires you to stay away from home
- Childcare expenses if you need support while studying
Keep in mind that Turing College’s programs are fully online, so there are no travel-related costs. You can train from anywhere, on your own schedule.
If you're receiving unemployment benefits, those won’t be affected by the Bildungsgutschein. You’ll continue receiving financial support while you train for a new career.
Am I Eligible for a Bildungsgutschein?
You may be eligible for a Bildungsgutschein if you meet one of these conditions:
✔️ You’re currently unemployed and registered with the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter.
✔️ You’re on reduced hours (Kurzarbeit).
✔️ You’re at risk of unemployment due to a short-term contract or company downsizing.
✔️ You need further training to update your skills or a new qualification to keep your job.
Each case is assessed individually, so even if you’re unsure, it’s worth discussing your situation with an Arbeitsberater (employment advisor).
How Can I Apply for a Bildungsgutschein?
Applying for a Bildungsgutschein isn’t complicated, but it does require strategy. Follow these steps to increase your chances of success:
1. Register with the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter
If you haven’t already, you need to officially register as unemployed or at risk of unemployment. You can do this online or by visiting your local Jobcenter or Agentur für Arbeit.
2. Apply for a Training Program
Apply for one of Turing College’s Bildungsgutschein-funded programs (Data Analytics, Data Science & AI, Digital Marketing & Analytics, AI for Business Analytics, or AI Engineering).
3. Book a Beratungsgespräch (Consultation) with an Employment Advisor
Once you're accepted and have an educational offer from Turing College, book an appointment with the Agentur für Arbeit or Jobcenter — either online or by calling 0800 4 555500.
4. Present a Strong Case to Your Employment Advisor
This is a crucial step. You’ll need to explain why you need training and how it will help you get a job. Be prepared with:
- A passport or national ID card
- Proof of residence in Germany (Anmeldebescheinigung)
- An up-to-date copy of your CV
- An explanation of your career goals and how the program you're applying for will help achieve them
- Details about the program, including the course content, duration, learning outcomes, and the vocational identification number (Berufskennzahl). You'll find this information in the educational offer from Turing College.
- A list of current job openings to show that companies are hiring for this role. You can bring screenshots from job sites such as LinkedIn and Indeed.
- A German interpreter if you don't speak the language.
5. Get Your Bildungsgutschein Approved
Your advisor will decide if you should get a Bildungsgutschein. If approved, you’ll receive a voucher specifying the type and duration of training you’re allowed to take.
6. Enroll in a Bildungsgutschein-Funded Program
Once you have your voucher, you can enroll directly in an eligible training provider like Turing College.
