Kompass funding: up to €4,500 for your next qualification
Get up to €4,500 towards a job-relevant qualification and pay as little as 10% yourself.
What is Kompass?
Kompass is a public funding programme designed to help solo self-employed people strengthen their business through targeted training. It’s run by the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS) and co-funded through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus).
What you can get:
Up to 90% of eligible training costs
Up to €4,500 maximum grant for one qualification
Why use Kompass funding?
Because “I’ll learn it later” gets pricey when you’re self-employed — you either lose time, lose opportunities, or end up paying full price out of pocket.
Kompass helps you invest in skills that make your business run better now.
Build digital skills
Modern tools, automation, AI-enabled workflows, better data handling
Make smarter decisions with data
Tracking, reporting, forecasting, customer insights, prioritising based on evidence
Upgrade your methods
Project delivery, operations, productivity, systems that scale beyond you
Deepen specialist skills
that strengthen your offer and make your income less fragile in a changing market
How the funding works
Kompass is issued as a qualification voucher (Qualifizierungsscheck) through an official Kompass contact point (Anlaufstelle). The consultant will help define your training need and issue the voucher for the chosen qualification.
Important: Your voucher can only be used for a qualification that you haven’t already started or formally enrolled in. So talk to a Kompass contact point first, get the voucher, then book the course.
Maximum grant: €4,500
Frequency: once per 12 months
Training length: at least 20 hours
Completion window: 6 months

FAQ
How much funding can I get?

Can I use Kompass more than once?
Yes, but only once within 12 months.
What are the minimum training requirements?
Kompass-funded qualifications must have a minimum duration of 20 hours and be completed within 6 months after the voucher is issued.
What kind of training is eligible?
Kompass supports individually selected, job-relevant qualifications that strengthen your business and professional resilience: often digital and AI skills, business/admin knowledge, methods, or role-specific competencies.
Can I enroll first and then apply for the voucher?
No, don’t enroll or start the training before you have the voucher. The process is: consultation → voucher → course booking.
