Wer kann einen Bildungsgutschein beantragen?
Der Bildungsgutschein steht grundsätzlich allen Personen zur Verfügung, die in Deutschland leben – dazu zählen auch ausländische Staatsangehörige mit gültigem Aufenthaltsstatus (nachgewiesen durch eine Meldebescheinigung).
Du qualifizierst dich, wenn du:
arbeitssuchend oder arbeitslos gemeldet bist und Arbeitslosengeld I oder Bürgergeld erhältst
in Kurzarbeit bist

How the funding works
Kompass is issued as a qualification voucher (Qualifizierungsscheck) through an official Kompass contact point (Anlaufstelle). The consultant will help define your training need and issue the voucher for the chosen qualification.
Important: Your voucher can only be used for a qualification that you haven’t already started or formally enrolled in. So talk to a Kompass contact point first, get the voucher, then book the course.
Maximum grant: €4,500
Frequency: once per 12 months
Training length: at least 20 hours
Completion window: 6 months
Who is eligible?
Kompass is aimed at solo self-employed people who meet these baseline criteria.
You live and work in Germany.
You’ve been active for at least 2 years.
You earn at least 51% of your income from self-employment.
You have no more than 1 full-time equivalent employee (FTE).
How to apply for Kompass funding

Book the mandatory consultation.
Define your qualification goal
Based on what your business needs most (e.g., skills gap, new offer, or more efficient delivery).
Choose the Turing College course
That matches that goal and fits the Kompass requirements (e.g., scope, timeline).
Receive your Qualifizierungsscheck
From the Kompass contact point.
Enroll and complete the qualification
Within the required timeline.
Apply for partial reimbursement
Of eligible costs with the granting authority, following the instructions from your contact point.

You can get up to €4,500 for one qualification. Funding is designed to cover up to 90% of eligible training costs (so you typically pay ~10%).

Kompass-funded qualifications must have a minimum duration of 20 hours and be completed within 6 months after the voucher is issued.
What kind of training is eligible?
Kompass supports individually selected, job-relevant qualifications that strengthen your business and professional resilience: often digital and AI skills, business/admin knowledge, methods, or role-specific competencies.
Can I enroll first and then apply for the voucher?
No, don’t enroll or start the training before you have the voucher. The process is: consultation → voucher → course booking.
