What are apprenticeship units?
What are apprenticeship units?
Apprenticeship units are short, government-funded training courses extracted from existing national apprenticeship standards. Think of a full apprenticeship as a textbook — a unit is one chapter, delivered standalone in weeks rather than months.
Unlike a full apprenticeship (12 months minimum), each unit runs over 5 weeks at approximately 6 hours per week. There's no end-point assessment — completion is validated through a practical skills test. Credits sit on the learner's personal learning record and can count toward a full apprenticeship later.
