Description

Across three apprenticeship units, you'll deep-dive into state-of-the-art AI technologies to discover and secure buy-in for high-value AI initiatives; design a detailed plan for your specific AI transformation strategy; and lead the often-messy implementation, navigating a changing regulatory landscape and ensuring a smooth workforce transition.

Requirements

At least 19 years old when starting the apprenticeship

Leadership role capable of impacting AI change in the organisation

What you’ll be able to do

AI strategy and investment decisions

Understand the AI tool landscape, link capability to business goals, and make evidence-based procurement and investment decisions.

Hands-on practice building with AI

Experience the immense capabilities AI unlocks first-hand by working with some of the most state-of-the-art tools, such as Claude Code, Lovable and more. Learn how to minimise potential security issues that these tools create.

Prototype AI solutions

Practice creating and evaluating proof-of-concept solutions to test whether a potential AI strategy makes sense.

AI procurement and vendor management

Evaluate and select AI tools, platforms and suppliers using structured criteria, managing vendor risk, contractual assurance and exit planning.

Responsible AI governance

Design and operate governance frameworks that embed lawful, ethical and accountable AI use into organisational decision-making.

Enterprise risk and audit readiness

Identify and manage AI-related risks within the enterprise risk framework, ensuring audit readiness, compliance traceability and incident response.

AI-enabled organisational change

Lead cross-functional delivery of AI change across teams and processes, balancing innovation with practical implementation constraints.

Workforce transformation and external engagement

Assess workforce impacts, support upskilling and reskilling, and represent the organisation credibly with regulators, partners and the public.

01Discover: AI Strategy and Opportunity (AU0009)30 hrs · 3 topics

A leadership course for managers and decision-makers building an AI strategy for their organisation. Across 15 live Zoom workshops, you'll see what current AI tools can do across marketing, sales, operations and prototyping, diagnose how AI is being used in your organisation, design discovery pilots, and assemble an AI strategy with controls and a business case to present to senior leadership.

Involve relevant stakeholders into testing of potential AI solutions to ensure later cooperation

Compliance, legal and ethical preparedness

Assess specific compliance, legal, ethical risks, find ways to mitigate them, ensuring it’s reflected in the implementation plans

Preparing for AI-driven workforce changes

Plan for changes in roles of your organisation, maximising how AI can empower staff in their tasks and creating a future-state role map for your organisation

Practice supporting roles undergoing changes due to AI transformation, handle potential resistance and ambiguity

Monitoring for bias, drift, and security

Monitor and prevent risks of AI systems in bias, drift, and security and know how to respond to identified issues based on their severity.

Adapting to changing AI regulation environments

Respond to regulatory changes and compliance incidents affecting AI systems already in production
