Smart learning experience platform in IT education

VšĮ "Turing school" together with partners VšĮ "Skaitmeninių inovacijų institutas", UAB "Turing college" and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University are currently implementing a project financed by the European Union.

The aim of the project is to create a smart learning experience platform adapted to programming teaching, which will solve the problems existing in IT education by organizing innovative and self-governing physical education.

The project envisages scientific research for the development and validation of the concept of a smart learning experience platform in IT education in laboratory conditions and experimental development for the development and demonstration of a prototype of a smart learning experience platform in IT education in real operating conditions.

The result of the project is the development of personalized e-modeling of playable programming learning (taking into account personal cognitive style: attention, perception, memory, learning, and personal, behavioral in cyberspace and experiential features) software that provides clear learning instructions for information technology domain task and integrates automated progress assessment techniques for groups of learners.

The product could be used by 16-29 years old youth, people with developmental, psychological or physical difficulties, and other interested people. It could later be used not only individually but also implemented at the state level.

Funded under the 2014-2020 Experiment measure of the European Union Funds Investment Operational Program Priority 1 “Promotion of Scientific Research, Experimental Development and Innovation”.

Total value of the project – 1 057 419,00 Eur.

Funding for the project from the European Regional Development Fund – 765 278,69 Eur.

Own funds of the applicant and partners – 292 140,31 Eur.

The project is implemented from June 1, 2020 until August 4, 2022

VšĮ "Turing school" is a digital skills school for students in grades 5-12. The school collaborates with the world’s strongest programs, such as the Harvard CS50, and teaches students through top-level computer science and entrepreneurship programs. The school has a course on artificial intelligence, teaches the art of programming, how to create a website or a computer game in its program. VšĮ "Turing school" currently has schools in Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda, and has established the most innovative classes in the Baltic States.
